Do you sit most of the day ?
Walking in Place for 5 min can prolong your life
Many studies indicate that sitting for long periods of time can impact your health.
The key areas of impact include
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar regulation
Taking breaks to get your heart rate up and body moving has profound effects on all these health measurements.
Dr. Keith Diaz, who has been studying the impact of a sedentary lifestyle recently published an article

The research team found that a 5-minute walk every half hour led to a 58% reduction in blood sugar spikes after eating.
The researchers also found that blood pressure monitoring showed that all exercise resulted in up to a 5 mmHg drop in blood pressure reading when compared to no walking at all.
Walking in place can be just as beneficial as getting outside for a walk. The key is to get your heart rate up. Move your arms and raise your knees to utilize more muscle engagement.
If you are on zoom meetings, pause your video for 5 min and take that in place walk, or even better get those on the call with you to join the movement of longevity. You will be doing them a huge favor.
