COUGH ELIXER:

 

Use for children over
2 years old and adults:

 

4 Tbs of dried thyme

¼ cup honey

Juice of ½
to 1 lemon

1 cup water

 

Pour 1 cup
boiling water over dried thyme and steep 15-20 minutes. Strain and stir in
honey and lemon juice. Refrigerate and use with in 3-4 days.

 

Adults: 1-2 TBS every 2-3 hours

Children
over 2: 1-2 tsp every 2-3 hours

 

 

PEPPERMINT OR LAVENDER
MASSAGE OIL

 

Dilute 20 drops of essential oil with 4 tablespoons of
carrier oil

 

Peppermint good for headache, lavender good for stress and
insomnia

 

 

HOME REMEDY CHECKLIST

 

Fresh:

  • Ginger (can store in the
    freezer)
  • Garlic (remember to chop, slice
    or crush and let sit 10 min before using)
  • Miso paste
  • Honey (use: sore throat, cough,
    topically to heal minor wounds- not internally for children under 2)
  • Lemons

 

 

Dried:

Dried herbs
can be used in teas- steep 1 tsp per cup of water for 15 min and strain.

  • Thyme (uses: cough, diarrhea)
  • Chamomile (uses: diarrhea,
    anxiety, gas)
  • Peppermint (uses: diarrhea,
    gas, flavoring, not good for people with esophageal reflux)
  • Lemon Balm (uses: stress,
    herpes)
  • Ginger (uses: nausea, motion
    sickness)

 

Essential
Oils:

Buy organic

 

Thyme
(uses: in steam for sinusitis)

Lavender
(uses: stress, topically for acne)

Eucalyptus
(uses: in steam)

 

Herbal
tincture:

Licorice (uses:
sore throat add 30 drops to 4oz of warm water and 1 tsp honey, topically on
herpes, avoid internal use if you have high blood pressure)
