What is Detoxification?

What is Detoxification?

Do You Breathe air? ¨ Do You Drink Water? ¨ Do You Eat Food?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you have been exposed to toxic substances and would benefit from a detoxification program.

We are all exposed daily to toxins and our body constantly excretes these toxins through urine, stool, and sweat. Over time, we may reach a state of overload where our body’s ability to handle these chemicals is overwhelmed and they are stored in our tissues. In this state, symptoms of toxicity increase.

Symptoms of toxicity includes, but are not limited to:

¨       Allergies, chronic sinusitis, or chronic congestion

¨       Anxiety and Depression

¨       Autoimmune Disease (Lupus, MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc.)

¨       Fatigue

¨       Frequent Infections

¨       Headaches

¨       Muscle pain

¨       Poor concentration and memory

¨       Hormone imbalances (low thyroid, PMS, etc.)

Goals of a detoxification program:

¨       Reduce the toxic burden on the body by:

o        Decreasing exposure to toxins

o        Providing rest to overworked systems

o        Supporting deficient systems

o        Promoting optimal function of detoxification pathways

o        Kick off lifestyle and dietary changes aimed at weight loss and enhanced overall health

Detoxification programs have many benefits, including:

¨       Clears wastes from body systems

¨       Disease prevention

¨       Increased energy

¨       Relief from digestive complaints

¨       Clear skin

¨       Improved mood and greater mental clarity

¨       Reduced PMS

¨       Improvement in neurological symptoms

¨       Elimination of food addictions and allergies

¨       Weight loss

We run detoxification programs 2-3 times per year. Please call for information about when our next program begins.
